Here are the greatest sitcoms, as voted by you, the OOTiots:

1. Seinfeld
2. The Simpsons
3. The Family Guy
4. Cheers
5. Married with Children
6. Arrested Development
7. The Fresh Prince of Bel Air
8. Futurama

meh, it could have been worse.

Anyone interested in a worst (popular) sitcom of all time tournament?

BTW, Fresh Prince beat out Futurama 125-124

That's not a terrible list. I think Cheers should be higher and Seinfeld lower though.

M*A*S*H should be in the top 8

7. The Fresh Prince of Bel Air

That invalidates the whole list.

No big deal, though. I'm sure somebody will redo the whole thing before next spring.

Yes, where did this show get all the support? A bunch of Will Smith fans? I doubt the writers for FPoBA were in high demand when that show ended.

The only reason I ever watched Fresh Prince was to scope out that Tatyana Ali in her Catholic school outfits.

Damn, she was cute.

How does this invalidate the whole list? Just because it isn't in your top ten doesn't mean that the 125 votes shouldn't count.

Actually, that's exactly what it means.

Nah, Man Simpsons and any other animated series on the list doesn't belong. Don't get me wrong Simpsons is a great animated series, however it isn't a sitcom.

Uh,

Comedy - Check.
Characters - Check.
Characters involved in various situations - Check.

Looks like a sitcom to me.

Futurama was the best animated sitcom of all time. Maybe if the simpsons wasn't about 6 seasons of greatness spread across 16 seasons of content, it'd be different, but frankly, Futurama is all peak.

That is all.

The fact that it has one of the most memorable theme songs of all time helps it some.

For the most part, I agree.

But, for some reason or another, I only WANT to judge the simpsons on like the first 7 or 8 years. And if that is the case, I say its better than Futurama.

Longevity has to count in greatness doesn't it?

Isn't that what makes Walter Payton better than Gale Sayers?

Futurama sucks. Jesus.

Analogizing it into sports is just going to get everybody fighting about Koufax vs. Nolan Ryan.

If you were to randomly select an episode of either series, I believe you'd be substantially more entertained by Futurama.
