Will be in Phoenix for a few days the end of this month. Would like to play some poker, if I don't melt into a puddle first.(at least I'm acclimated to heat+humidity so maybe the desert heat won't be so bad.)

It seems that during the afternoons....say noon to six when the temp is over 100+, a poker room might be a pretty good place to be. But are the games filled only with retiree rocks? Or are they loose enough to be worthwhile?

Any info appreciated....thnx.

I play at casino arizona. and feel that the low limit games are always profitable, some nights are just better than others. There are a lot of retirees all day but there are also lots of fish at these games. Hit me up if you have any questions.

What are you looking to play? Where are you going to be staying in the area?

BTW, that will be in the monson season, so the humidity will be higher than you think. /images/graemlins/blush.gif

Thanks guys....will be staying in Mesa area and looking to play 2/4 or 3/6. Unless I get down to an Oklahoma poker room between now and mid-August, it will be my first foray into B&M play.

For what it's worth, I ran very well at .50/1.00 but took a bit of a beating at 1/2....so dropped back down for a bit. I'm not a fish, but am looking for loose passive games at this stage of my play.

PS...trip moved to mid August due to vacation scheduling conflicts at work. Going to see an elderly aunt who is not doing well. Otherwise...prolly wouldn't head to the desert in August!

You will want either CA (casino az) or Gila river. You will not find 2/4 anywhere but Gila. All of the low limit around here is pretty passive, regardless of the time of day/year.

If you want to play a little higher CA is the place.

Both will be close to you.
