I was absolutly murdering the 25nl games, and now i'm strugling to stay afloat... here's an example... any coments welcome...

UTG+1 ($24.5)
MP1 ($42.95)
Hero ($31.35)
MP3 ($18.95)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with K/images/graemlins/spade.gif, A/images/graemlins/heart.gif. SB posts a blind of $0.1.
UTG raises to $0.5, 1 fold, MP1 calls $0.50, Hero raises to $1.5, 5 folds, UTG calls $1, MP1 calls $1.

Flop: ($4.85) 7/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 7/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 6/images/graemlins/heart.gif (3 players)
UTG checks, MP1 checks, Hero bets $4, UTG folds, MP1 calls $4.

MP1 checks, Hero bets $8, MP1 calls $8.

River: ($28.85) 8/images/graemlins/heart.gif (2 players)
MP1 bets $18, Hero folds.

Final Pot: $46.85

he has a boat right?? or does he have trip sevens, and is kicking himself for not raising earlier?? or did he catch the flush?? or is it a bluff??

Why are you betting with A high?

Keep it simple.

No idea what Villain has, but it doesn't matter since you can't call him.

I'd likely check the turn and bet a blank river, check behind if I improve (weird, I know).

i bet that flop because there are a lot of turns that i like, any A, K or heart + there's a lot of fold equity on that flop... i see where you're going on the turn, fireing the secon barrel is risky... what does anyone else think?

Dude you don't have anything. What does this have to do with catching breaks?

This happens all the time, more often then not. AK doesnt hit everytime.

I like to fire at the flop, once I get a call I like to give respect. Dont dig yourself in deeper then you need to.

You'll catch your breaks just be patient, and keep playing your game. If you find yourself going on tilt, stop playing for a while. Then go back at it and play your game.

The trouble with less-than-potting the flop after raising only 3x pf is that it looks like a continuation bet. I would call a pf raiser with any pair on this board, and the turn as well.

Villain probably had a pair like 55 or 88 or knew you were weak and bluffed you off it.

You don't want to see a heart on the turn, all it gives you is a 20% (or less) draw or possibly a scare card (though no one will believe you after betting the flop). You really have 5 good outs to improve on the turn, and they're non-nut outs. That's an 11% chance of improving on the turn.

I agree 110%. That's why I said the flop bet was fine but that he should have checked the turn.

I think that if he spikes an A or K on the river, it's best to check behind because he will fold worse hands and be called by better hands. If he doesn't improve, he may be able to bet and get better hands to fold.

hey everyone thanks for the responses... i was tilting a little (seeing 24% flops) but i just took down two nice pots at the same time, one with quad nines (99 in the hole) and another with AJ out of the blind catching a flop of AAQ... I think i'll be more grounded now...

Who cares what he has - you have Ace high, and you cant beat anything that he can bet. Begone from the hand.
