View Full Version : im kinda tilting right now

so i've been on a major downswing for about two weeks now. it seems as though every time i have a coinflip on the bubble i lose. i never win as a favorite anymore when i get all in preflop. i started out two weeks ago as bankrolled with 50 buyins at the 33s. since then i have either had a day in which i was a slight winner, or a big loser. today i started out at about 30 buyins and i have dropped down to my last 20 or so (690 remaining). i am done dropping down. i am done with this downswing. i have 7 buyins at the 109s, and i will either get back to the 50 that i started with, or i will go broke. im sick of it and it is either this swing or me.
thank you for listening to me vent

boo to tilting.
Take a few days off and come back and move down to the 22's, I don't know who said it but I remember hearing "many a bankroll has been rebuilt at the 22's".

If it isn't affecting your play then you wouldn't start a thread titled 'im kinda tilting right now.'
Just be careful and play the right way, I don't want you to experience what I've gone through in the last few months...

in my last 253 games I am down $126 at the 20s
bad things happen to good players. I am taking it rather well.
You have to suffer through these things in order to gain the respect for it. There is nothing anyone can really say to make you feel better. Just overcome it.

im just coming back from a few days off, and the above statement is precisely why i am doing this. i figure that if i go broke, i can easily get someone to either back me, or somehow find a job and actually work for a week to get a new br.
I don't know what sorts of jobs are offered in your area but getting a grand in a week at starting pay isn't very common
You could, however, deal drugs

Sniff... I feel your pain, Bro! Since I've been back from my week-long trek, I am 0h-fur (all bubbled out in 4th with the best hand.)
Granted, since I only play 1.73 tourneys or so per day on average it's not a downswing of gorilla proportions, but it bums me out. Gonna drink, buy some new jeans and come back with a better attitude. Best of luck to ya Beefy!

Or you could gamble appropriately for a week and build a new bankroll. Not trying to pile on, but I've never found it a good idea to dramatically up the stakes during a downswing from which I'll be forced into manual labor if I don't recover in a span of 7 buy-ins.

A2 has been my favorite calling hand lately.
You're back in the game, though. You've got a safe roll for some bankroll rejuvenation at the $11s, or an adequate roll to start your heater at the $22s. Don't play anymore tonight, you can't be in a good frame of mind. Time like this call for internal numbing liquid massage.

I just wanted to say thank you to all of you who showed up and gave me some support. I can scrounge together another 400-500 to add on top of the 450 I just won in order to 8 table the 22s.
Thanks again,

Hmm...
8 tabling the 11s at 15% ROI > $13.20/hr
I'd choose 11s over construction, especially when you'd make over $15 with rakeback.

4 hands today:
I push on the button with 500 chips and 75/150 blinds (with 95s but whatever). The BB with 1000 chips takes some time to think and then calls me with J3o getting a bit under 2:1 for half his stack. He won.
Hand 2:
Some dude open completes in level 3, I push AKo for 1K, and he wastes no time calling with his Q2o. He lost.
Hand 3:
A guy completes his SB on the bubble (150/300 blinds) with 2K behind, I push 1500 in the BB with KJ and he instacalls with QTs. He won.
Hand 4:
I complete ATo in level 1 and blow a CR on a 3 way T22 flop. I bet 30 chips into the pot of 45 when a K turns; the BB calls and the single limper folds. The river is a T and I put the other guy all in for 700 chips. He thinks a while and then calls with his 2.
These are not, by any means, the worst plays I've seen today. They're all $109's. Happy July 4'th!
PS: GL man, you're a good player/poster. Keep your head high.

Johnny, didn't you recently play a huge amount of 11s in one day 8 tabling? If I recall correctly, you built your B/R up very nicely doing this. If the choice is play poker or bust your ass doing construction, I'd just do that again, either on the 11s or 22s. Dude, you know the 11s are so fishy you'd be cutting your variance way down.
Personally, that's what I think you should do. Just PM me your screen name so that I can avoid you. /images/graemlins/grin.gif
