Wicked - Anyone seen it?

The girl that I'm seeing has a couple of the songs from the show downloaded onto her itunes and rants and raves about how good the songs are whenever she sees one of the commercials. Her birthday is coming up this week and all signs point to tickets for the show would be the best way to please.

The problem is that I'm not a musical guy. Has anyone seen this show? Is Wicked entertaining enough to get through it for the evening? Thoughts?

Haven't seen it but several of my friends have and liked it. It should be between bearable and enjoyable. You would probably like this more than most musicals if you are not into them.

I've read the novel and it was very good.

i know a bunch of people who worked on it and it should be very entertaining unless you're too cool and take it seriously.

I've seen it and have tickets to see it again next week. It is marginal to good, but the wife likes it, so we're going back.
