I've seen this phrase, or variations on it, come up several times. What does "run it twice" mean? Thanks...

The only time you'll see it is in a cash no limit or pot limit game where all the players are all in.

Say one player has top pair and the other player has a big draw on the flop. They both go all in. When the cards are turned over, both players may agree to 'run it twice'. That means the dealer will flip the turn and river cards, then put them back into the deck, shuffle, and deal the turn and river again. If one player wins both times, he takes the whole pot. If they each win once, they split the pot.

This is done to reduce both players fluctuations. The more times the cards are run, the closer the final results will be to each hands true EV. It simply reduces the luck factor a little bit. It also makes it less likely that either player will go broke, with in the long run is good for the game.

I hope that makes sense.
