Pushing low pocket pair short stacked middle pos

8 handed Bodog $11 blinds 30/60.

I'm the short stack with T475

I open push pocket 5s in MP1 (I'll be big blind the hand after next)

Is this push correct? What other types of hands are you pushing here?

I'm really not looking to push low pairs with blinds only at 30/60... you still have ~8BB left, pick a better spot/hand... I think you can still afford to see the flop (perhaps from LP?) with a better hand.

Why would I want to see a flop with ~8BB left? And once I do get to LP I'll have <7BB left, plus I have to pick up a hand..
