Fold preflop.

I fold PF. Then I check flop. With 800 chips, I don't think you're deep enough to be playing a drawing hand. Also, with so many people in the pot, I don't like your chances with TP2K. If I'm playing KQs, I'm playing it for a monster flop.

I normally do fold this preflop. I have been trying to play a few more hands lately when I can get in cheaply like this. Maybe that type of thinking is wrong and I should go back to playing tighter in level 1?

I told myself before the flop I wasn't going to continue past the flop unless I hit top two pair or better. Then this flop happened and I went against my better judgement.

If I call PF (it's not a certain fold for me but at an 800 chip tourney I probably wouldn't play it)...I'm checking here and seeing what happens behind you. You don't care about free cards on this board so much as you want to see whether a QJ is out.

PS: MP2 has nothing 90% of the time, but somebody will usually bet here. If there's no real interest, put 150 in on most turns and see who bites.

Seriously rocks, there is nothing wrong with playing this PF. That's not what hte OP was asking about. Its the flop line that is intresting. As for that, I mix it up between betting out and checking to see what developes with checking my preferred line. If I bet it would be less than you bet. More of a probe type.

OK, so why a probe bet and not more?

My thinking when I did bet was that either I get them all to fold, I fold to a reraise or see what happens on the turn if I get called (hopefully by a weaker queen).

If you throw a probe bet out there, aren't you more likely to get called by drawing hands? Maybe thats ok, but with all those other players in the pot, I wanted to narrow the field with my hand.

The board isn't really that draw friendy I guess 10 9 gets to take a card off on you. I bet smaller because it gives me info for cheaper. I really think people calling and raising standards are about the same for a 100 bet as a 150 bet though maybe not. Basically I'm betting to figure out what I'm up against.

Good point. I was thinking if QJ was out there I'd see a reraise and then I'd fold to it. If that had happened I'd have bled about 1/5 of my stack to find that out.

Ok, that seems reasonable, thanks.
