So Ive been away from home for about 3 weeks now, living in the Navy equivalent of a hotel room. Luckily I have a buddy who lives here who gave me a key to his house and said to just treat like it was mine. He has mostly been gone so Ive essentially had the house to myself, which is cool when all you have otherwise is a stuid little room. Anyhow, this place is a typical bachelor pad, a little messy, a tad unkempt if you will. Now having been domesticated myself, I know the cure for these ills is very apparent to me. So the question is, would it be too weird if I cleaned up my buddies house, e.g. vacuum, clean bathroom, sweep floors, etc? Or just settle for leaving a 12 pack of his favorite in the fridge?

You don't have to go clean crazy but you're living there contributing to the general squalor so you should clean it. Who else is going to clean it if you don't? Actually, you owe him the 12 pack anyways plus the housecleaning.

I voted clean since you've been domesticated, but since I haven't I'd settle for the beer.

There's definitley nothing gay/wrong with cleaning. My apt is a mess and I would appreciate a free cleaning over beer.
