When you calculate your BB per hour win rate, do you factor in the rake or not?

When you say I am averaging 1.5 BB's per hour do you include in the calcuation
a) tips
b) rake/time

or not?

Yup to both.

Interesting to note though, at a LL game like $3/6 for instance my simulations show that - on average, of course - you'll pay approximately $6 to $7 per hour in rake, that is if the game is something reasonable like 10% to $4 max.

So, if you think about it - If you are a winning player at LL's you are really earning about a BB more per hour than your 'net' BB per hour shows. Damn rake!! /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Simply put - if you were playing in a non-raked game your raked earn of 1.5 BB per hour would be 2.5 BB per hour.

for each limit, i take the amount up or down, and divide it by hours played......

keep it simple....

I know, it is very very annoying, to see the pot shortchanged (raked) $4 after time you win, and then you still have to tip the dealer if you wish. I hate it.

If the dealer is over raking the pot with any regularity, you should really, really say something. This is not only wrong, but bad for business. It costs you money both directly and indirectly. If the house is stealing from the losing players, that's less they have to lose to you.

If they take an extra dollar once out of every 2 or 3 pots, that's costing you a staggering amount of money over the long run.

Follow up question. When you say you win 3BB/hour, is the BB equal to the Big Blind or the Big Bet?

It's the big bet...

I include everything I spend money on and every second I spend in a game, between the time I buy-in and cash-out. That includes rake, tips, coffee, steak, etc.
