Happened last night in PP's 300+28 WSOP tourney.

40 players left of over 300, this is my first hand at this table as they had just collapsed Table 5.

Average stack is ~t9k
Blinds t300-600

Top 8 get the $13.5k Package

Hero ~t13,500
Villain ~13,250

Hero is MP1 with Q /images/graemlins/spade.gif J /images/graemlins/heart.gif

Fold, fold, fold Hero raises to t1500

Folded to Villian in CO, Villain calls t1500

Flop Q /images/graemlins/club.gif 6 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif 4 /images/graemlins/heart.gif

Hero bets t2500

Villina raies t2500 to t5000

HERO????

Well i got top pair, but who knows what this guy is cold calling that raise with. When I min-raise like this late I am usually stealing with total crap, doesn't mean thats his move necessarily.

Can I fold this? Can I call it?

If i do call do i call or push?

Then what??

I think this is the type of hand to stay away from in Early Mid Position, so I fold PF FWIW. In MP3 or later I may open with it.

Given the ragged nature of the board, I suspect villian is putting in a defensive raise with AQ, KQ, or even JJ/TT. This isn't the type of hand we can take to the river. I think I reluctantly fold here and pick a better spot.
