What's the best play here? Is it a fold pre-flop?

Don't limp. Don't call a raise with kjo. You should be raising any hand worth entering with because you have a chance at the blinds and you find out where you are at. KJo is dominated by a lot of hands the bb would raise with here so you shouldn't bother seeing a flop.
Given the trouble you got yourself into, whether you continue depends on your reads. Taking a turn and seeing if he bets again is viable.
