Tell me if i am wrong, new to the probability section and just want to make sure my understanding of basic things is correct.

The chance of someone have KK and someone else having KK in the same hand, headsup is

4/52 * 3/51 * 2/50 * 1/49

Correct?

Which is approximately 00.00036%

Which means this will occur in about 1 in every
277 777. deals correct?

Ill do it with counts

C(4,2) = 6 ways to deal KK
If you have KK, then there is only one way to deal the other KK. If you are at a 10 handed table, then there are 9 possible opponents that can have KK. There are C(50,2) ways to deal the remaining cards. So the probability of you having KK and someone else having KK should be

9 * 1 / C(50,2) ~ .73% or 136:1 Against

That should be correct.

1. What you computed is 1 in 136 or 135:1

2. These are the odds that someone else at a 10 person table has KK given that you already have KK. These are not the odds that you and someone else get dealt KK. For that, you would have to multiply the probability by 6/C(52,2) = 1/221.

3. The OP was computing the probability that both players in a heads-up match get dealt KK, and his calculation was correct (except that it is 1 in 270,725 if you don't round off). This is also the probability that 2 specific players get dealt KK at a full table.

Misread the OP's question, thanks Bruce.
