Only if you like good movies...
seriously, rent it, and get Evil Dead 2 & Army of Darkness, watch them all in a row.
That's such a good idea, I might do it today...

If you have to ask, then you're not ready.
Watch Evil Dead II, then Army of Dorkness - er - Darkness, then Bubba Ho-Tep.
The Evil Dead (Raimi/Campbell's ultra low budget freshman effort) should only be watched after seeing these other genre flicks. Then you will understand.
Edit: You may even want to read Bruce Campbell's autobiography (If chins could kill: confessions of a B movie actor) to appreciate the humor and the directing techniques.

it's awesome in a campy sort of way. when i was a kid, my dad told me that this was the scariest movie he had ever seen. after watching it, i was like: /images/graemlins/confused.gif...

Saw Evil Dead way back when and almost crapped my pants twice. A friend of mine had to sleep over cuz he was too afraid to walk home. Granted is was -84 and we were only 11 but still. I had nasty nighmares about this effing movie....

Evil Dead - Straightforward horror B-movie.
Evil Dead 2 - Same movie on PCP.
Army of Darkness - Best movie of all time.
All three should be watched repeatedly.

I love Evil Dead, it's a truly scary movie. I can't stand any of the sequels though, they're too over-the-top.
