Cold Calling is calling more than a single bet. If you are in late position and an early position player bets, another player raises and a 3rd player re-raises you are said to be 'calling 3 bets cold' - or more simply put - 'cold calling'.

By contrast, simply calling a single bet is not considered 'cold calling'. The term is reserved for calling more than a single bet.
