given that you are posting on his website, how can you leave out Sklansky? he has clearly had the biggest impact on my poker life with his many publications and general respect for the game.

1) The crew that started the WPT, which both started my interest in poker as a serious game and has provided me a huge amount of money by attracting horrible players to the game.

2) Sklansky and Malmuth, as I read Theory of Poker as my first poker book and was able to think clearly about the game from that point on.

3) My buddies who started a $0.10/$0.20 limit HE game with me, where I learned a lot with no financial risk.

4) The posters on this site, who helped me develop beyond a beginning player.

5) Robert Varkonyi and Chris Moneymaker, for attracting so many bad players to play HE.

6) All the bad players who have donated to me.

The high limit players and tournament winners haven't done very much for me.

Without a doubt Sklansky and Malmuth have had the most influence over my poker life. A very positive influence. But I would not call either of them my poker heros.

I'll second that.

Mr. Brunson is a hell of a card player and a nice guy.

Someone you have only seen on tv influcences your life, and the way you play poker??? You have seen him play a few hundred short handed final table hands and they have influenced you! Clearly you suck!

AND WHERE IS DAVID S. ON THAT LIST. If it wasn't for him you would't have a place to post a dumb thread like this! HE WROTE THE [censored] GREATEST BOOK EVER ON POKER, The Theory of poker, and you can actually interact with him here. We should have you Quartered for this!

Without a doubt Ted Forrest. The man is the ultimate action junky and plays the highest limit games in the world. He laughs at the idea of a bankroll and scoffs at those poor souls who laydown hands to him.

The stories I've heard and read about this guy are by far the funniesst and most impressive of any player. And he's the nicest guy I've ever played with at the poker table. Never seen him get angry becasue of losing or mad at any other player.

Ted Forrest is the one poker hero to rule them all.
