Do any of you guys have an ebay business? meaning 75% of your total income comes from selling stuff on ebay?

I would like to check out some of them and need advice.

I don't have a business but I looked into it a while ago. From what I found most people with an ebay business won't help you out any. It's so competitive now.

In order to be successful on eBay, you really have to be able to get a hold of a lot of popular merchandise at wholesale or below wholesale value. Even then, any product you're going to sell already has been done most likely.

I sell cd's on ebay. It used to be able 80% of my income, lately it has been 25%. Next month it's gonna go back up to about half. I have a store and all that good stuff.

they sound 'ok' not 'pretty good' and on a portable player in a less than quiet environment they are a somewhat reasonable compromise between quality and quantity. But I kinda prefer to listen to music a bit closer to how it is intended to sound.

i dont have an ebay business but have a bit of experience with the whole thing. from my understanding, successful ebay businesses are based on 2 key points:

1) buy products at wholesale just like everyone else
2) have the best feedback rating

the sellers with the impeccable feedback ratings are getting more for their products then other sellers. if you want to make alot of money on ebay selling products that everyone else has access to, then you will probably need to have sick feedback. getting there almost makes the whole business concept undoable as you have missed the boat.

you cant even purchase products wholesale for below ebay market value because if you could, the wholesalers would sell directly through ebay. ebay is wholesale. being able to sell above ebay market price requires feedback.

there was an 00t thread on this a couple of months ago so you might try a search. there's was also a thread a couple of days ago in B&M. the op has a bunch of poker chips he planned to sell on ebay that he's stuck with. ebay can be a good business but it's tougher than it used to be.
