Every so often, there are things that come up that I really wish I could bet on but can't get lines on anywhere. I feel like these bets would be so +EV, even if the oddsmakers made difficult lines. You probably have feel that way too sometimes - so what bets do you wish existed, so that you could skool the bookies them? Here are two of my current ones.

(1) NBA Draft coming up soon, and is being discussed in the Sporting Events forum. I wish I could bet on a trifecta for the exact order of 1,2,3. Bogut, Marvin Williams, Deron Williams. It's a lock. What kind of odds do you think I could get on that?

(2) Women's tennis is not very deep, so favorites usually win out, makes it easier to cap. I wish I could get finals exactas for Sharapova to win over Davenport and Davenport to win over Sharapova. The odds would be much better than simply Davenport and Sharapova to win their semis.

I suggested the NBA draft bets for Tradesports--nevermind the exactas, I would like being able to bet on those picks 6 through 12. Although I woulda lost a ton of money betting Danny Granger every pick...

Exactas for tennis is a very good idea--who wants to lay money on Federer? Where's the interest there? Much more fun to pick the exacta here.

This is how we know that time travel will never be possible. If it were ever possible, someone would of came back and cleaned up on sports betting while another guy would of came back and showed the guys in the 1940's how to really play basketball.

Couldn't you just parlay Sharapova to win Wimbleton + Davenport in her semi match?

Good thought, but you can't do that on any sportsbook I know. Please tell me if you find one.

Sharapova to win Wimbledon is a future, and Davenport to win semis is a straight wager. You can only parlay straight wagers, not futures.

I've parlayed both to win their semis at basically even money odds. Even if you put all the winnings on Sharapova after that, it's probably at, say -175 odds or so. Which makes the overall bet +157. Parlaying all three together right now, if possible, would yield +200.

Looks like it doesn't matter, that (1) + (2) would have been a wash.

Ah, there is also some corrolation there between the two wagers. Who Sharapova has to play in the final (which is contingent on the outcome of your Davenport wager) affects Sharapova's odds. In this case you would be betting AGAINST the corrolation but it's not allowed either way.

The futures odds on Sharapova are the chances of her beating Venus * the chances of her beating the other semi winner. The odds of her beating Venus and then Davenport should be less than her "Win Wimbleton" odds. So, indeed, your exacta would net you more than what i proposed, if it were allowed.

of course this is all moot now

Sklansky-Malmuth cage match.

I think:

Malmuth -130
Sklansky +110 sounds good.
