I am waiting for my Dell to arrive and I just had some questions about it. Right now I use a 22" CRT, and for browsing the internet or reading the forums, I usually like to bump the resolution down to about 1280x960 because the text is pretty small using 1600x1200. Has anyone had any trouble with small text on the 2001FP using 1600x1200? Is an LCD using a DVI input sharper for text than a good quality CRT using VGA? I know that LCDs are made to have a native resolution, would the picture look like crap if I used 1280x960 when I wasn't playing poker?
Thanks

I've only used 1600x1200 with VGA. I haven't had any problems reading any text at all.

The picture does look like crap in anything but the native resolution, yes. The TFT is much much easier on your eyes than a CRT, so you should be fine.

I find that text is too small and am not really satisfied that
MS XP or the web browsers support 1600-1200 well enough.

You bump up the text size on the browser and windows
but it still kind of sucks but you make do. For poker
it is fine.

If using IE you can go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Accessibility. There you can selcet the box to "Ignore font sizes specified on web page". Then you can change the text size using View->Text Size.

I'm sure other browsers have similar workarounds.

In firefox, just hold CTRL and scroll your scroll button on your mouse to change the text size.
