Does this forum double as a general game theory thread, since game theory is a branch of mathamatics?
If so, is there any real theory in RPS? I only ask due to reasons explained here. (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Number=2742286&page=0&view=c ollapsed&sb=5&o=14&fpart=1#Post2742306)
Thanks

Since game theory is a branch of mathematics then this is the appropriate forum for discussions of same. Regarding RPS, it is a game and thus can be analyzed to try to produce optimal strategies, just like in other games. In some games, such as tic-tac-toe, when both parties play optimally, those games are played to draws, and thus have no effective payoff.

Strategy in RPS is not of the pure game theory variety. It is all about using psychology to identify patterns in throws and exploiting them.
