Any suggestions? Just something I can wear to walk down the street and get ice cream. I don't really plan on wearing them out out. Sooooo <$100.

I don't want Birkenstocks because of what that signifies. Anything casual, fashionable and reasonable.

Edit: Ok if they're really sick and can be a little more versatile, I'll spend more money.

American Eagle sandals (http://www.ae.com/AE_SectionShoesPage.process?RestartFlow=t&Section_ Id=808&Gender=Mens&CatalogFlag2=Shoes&Merchant_Id= 1&CatalogFlag=FloorSet&Section_Title=LeatherFlipFl ops)

I used to have a pair and really liked it.

If you don't care about where they're from/trying to impress people, I really like my walmart sandals.

Do some shopping at those trendy shops (abercrombie, american eagle, etc.) and I'm sure you'll find a nice pair.

Also, what do Birkenstock or w/e it's called sandals symbolize?

They are WAY more comfortable than any other sandal and have a lifetime warrantee (they wear out, send them in, new pair for free, although I would buy a new pair because I like the company). They aren't expensive ( <$50) and get better the longer you wear them.

Edited: It's a pic of rainbow sandals if you hadn't seen them before.

I did the same last purchase and saved $8 by purchasing leather reef sandals instead of rainbows. Although I am happy with my purchase, I regret being cheap and not getting the rainbows. So yeah, get yourself some rainbows.

I'll throw in another vote for the rainbows. Very comfortable and it only costs like $50.

Yeah...the answer is still rainbows.

They might be a little uncomfortable for the first week...but once they get worn in they are the best footwear ever.

Go to REI and check out some Keens (http://www.rei.com/online/store/ProductDisplay?storeId=8000&catalogId=40000008000& productId=47657192&parent_category_rn=4501263). They're awesome. They'll run you $65-$95 depending on which ones you get. My wife and I both got a pair for when we went on our honeymoon in Costa Rica and we both wore them non-stop. We both still wear them all the time. They're awesome. They're more than flip-flops, so I don't know if that's what you want, but... they're still awesome.

This is the exact same thing as what mine are, color and everything:

Just so you know, I've heard Rainbows have issues with getting wet, i.e. you can't get too much water on them. That's really the only reason I haven't gotten a pair.

[/ QUOTE ]

I've never actually put mine directly in water but I have gotten out of the water and put my rainbows on (getting them about as wet as you would reasonably ever need to). The leather was discolored for a day and then they were normal again. I've also worn them in snow with no problems. If something did go wrong, the lifetime warrantee would kick in anywho.

I wear mine 200+ days out of the year.

Sandals are my life. I wear sandals almost always, except if it's snowing. I have slowly started wearing sandals in place of shoes for even formal events. Sandals are my life.

American Eagle sandals are OK. I had a pair I really liked a few years ago, but they weren't very solid, and I was constantly losing my footing. About 3 years ago, I made the switch to Skechers, and I haven't looked back. I currently own 3 pairs, in various states of disrepair. They're great, and they're all basically identically good.

A la Seinfeld and the sponge, if I ever got word that Skechers was discontinuing sandals, I would buy at least 5 or 6 pair to stock up.I like them that much.

Their leather flip-flops from 2 years ago were my personal favorite. They were hard-sole, with a leather top,and leather straps. They completely ruined them the next year when they made the sole out of some kind of composite that was basically painted, they added rubber to the heel, and they made the straps out of cheaper leather. They abondoned me when I needed them most. My pair from 2 years ago has broken twice, and I have repaired them twice. I had two pairs (one black one brown) and when the black ones broke I tossed them to go buy a new pair.... bastards

Yes. The first sandals i ever owned were velcro. After 12 straight hours in the water once time, the velcro got soft and stopped working so I went to the kind with the little buckles. However, about a year ago, I went back to velcro. I figure I just won't wear these in the water for 12 hours and they'll be o.k.

To each his on, but when I lived in Santa Barbara, I'd say about 75% of the straight male population wore thong sandals. On the other hand, I would never have been seen dorking it up in something these:
