Hi all. I just ordered a refurb DVDR drive, so it came sans software. Does anyone have any recommendations for software both to view and burn DVDs? Thanks a lot.

For burning, I recommend DVD Decrypter (http://www.dvddecrypter.r8.org/). For reading, I use Power DVD and am pretty happy with it.

I also use http://www.dvdshrink.org/ This along with decrpter since u can get rid of all the extra features in a movie to make it fit onto the DVD.

dvdshrink and dvdecrypter are both great but IIRC both are rippers - neither burns to DVD. You'll need something like nero or alcohol 120% to actually burn...

My mistake - I thought it just created HD images.

I don't know if you saw but apparently the last one has been released and his site/project voluntarily shut down after being threatened by some anti-piracy entity (possibly Sony). Might want to get the latest release while you still can...
