Stars WSOP qualifier. Still pretty early, blinds 25/50. I have just over 5K in chips. 16 seats up for grabs, but still 200 left. Villain mini raises to 100 4 off the button. FOlded to me in the BB with 3 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif 2 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif. I call the extra 50.

Flop Q /images/graemlins/spade.gif 5 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif 4 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif

I check, he overbets the pot to 300. I raise to 900 and he immediately pushes. I have him covered by 800. I figure AA or KK but maybe QQ. Problem is I have odds to call no matter what he has.

I took 90 seconds to decide. 30 minute levels, lots of play left, but 9K in chips if I win.

WHat do you do?

unless he has AK or AQ or diamonds, you have great equity here and are more then happy to get your money in, you'll need a big stack to nutpeddle later.

After his 300 bet, I think I raise to 1200-1500, but after his push, of course you have to call.

Boy I feel weak tight. Why put my $$ in on a draw (albeit monster draw) where we are not 100% sure our flush gives us the hand? I'm a much bigger fan of calling the 300 here, and seeing what the turn brings. No one else calls to see the turn?
