- Doyle and his games in the old days where he was shot at and whatever
- Women poker players and their experiences of being a women in a male dominated game

Anyone care to add another story they seem to read about every freaking month in another stupid card magazine or online site?

i hate the way the 'young gun' player is stereotyped.

i know that most of us fall into that generic category - but that doesn't mean we all play the same style or act the same way.

Someone spending $39 in an online satellite and winning $2.5 million in their first live tourney? It's a great story, but I'm sick of hearing it...

Not a story, but a saying:

"...and may all your pots be monsters."

Yuck.

"Here's how to play Texas Hold'Em!"

I can't believe I was the first one on this. If I can find someone who doesn't know the rules....ummm....I don't know, I just don't think I can anymore.

What about Dutch Boyd's sudden, painful death?

This isn't a 'story' as much as it is a frequent post/comment I hear from too many people:

- "There's too many bad players in the WSOP, which is annoying for pros because no pro could possibly survive a room full of bad players - they need to increase the buy-in to deter dead money, so that only the pros can afford to play, which is what pros really want, so they can win again."

Such tortured logic, it hurts.

How about the whole notion that just because someone is an internet qualifier who Norman Chad hasn't heard of that the guy is "dead money"?

Apparently you need to hear the story again. It was Johnny Moss and Nick "The Greek" Dandolos.

1. Ellix Powers being homeless.

2. Phil Hellmuth telling us all how he needs a tenth and eleventh bracelet.

3. Annie Duke saying what a good player Ben Affleck is.

I hate pretty much all the stories previously mentioned in this thread. The stories I can't get enough of are all the degenerate-gambler side bets that go on between the pros.

Only 3 people consistently beat the big game.

Never get tired of hearing about the prop bets though, especially the 10k cheesburger bet., and the won't live in Iowa for a month bet.

Bet that Huck Seed’s brother Lief couldn’t run the 280 miles from L.A. to Las Vegas, only sleeping twice.

Won $10,000 because Lief hurt his Achilles’ tendon after 70 miles.
