On the river, I feel hopeless and that I can only beat a busted straight draw or someone on crack. But the pot was big. Anyone raise turn? Open is loose, a little aggro, calla a lot but prob not totally clueless.

1. Why not cap pre flop?

2. I don't like the flop cap(for a free card I presume). SB probably has a very strong hand here to bet-3bet into a pre-flop raiser and 3-bettor on this board.

3. I wouldn't call the river and I definitely wouldn't raise the turn.

Well, I guess not so interesting. But I won the hand. My oppoent had K /images/graemlins/club.gif4 /images/graemlins/spade.gif. At the time I thought my river call was atrocious, but it worked out.

The cap is for deception in other hands and for the immediate value of his hand. Hero has a gutshot str8 flush draw and two overcards making him a large favorite over any one pair lower than kings. His opponent may have better than this but the chance of him havning 1 pair or less plus the hcance of sucking out plus the chance of free card all added up makes it an easy cap the majority of the time and once in a while just call for deception.
