Hi Everyone,
Suppose a group of reasonably good players numbering more than half the seats at table sits down to play. Do they have a collective edge against newcomers? Assume no signaling or other cheating.

I.E. could a group of good players who know each other simply earn based on the fact that they hold more than 50% of the spot at the table?

Sincerely,
AA

they would have no advantage other than the total skill edge that they may hold or may not hold over another player.
if they had a % of each other and played differently because of it then they may increase that edge if played properly.

If they know eachothers pokerskills and style well, each of them will have an edge over the table as a whole compared to the newcomers.

Sounds like a take off from the movie Rounders. Good question though.

But I have to agree with Ray.

Never saw all of Rounders! (Seriously!).

Clearly if everyone has exactly the same skill level, only the drop box wins. Was just curious whether there was something to it in the sense that 6 guys running out of the same bankroll might somehow profit simply by "owning" more than 50% of the winning hands and seats.

Guess there's nothing to that idea. Fuzzy thinking I suppose.

Sincerely,
AA
