Well I am currently taking summer courses and I will get a 2 week window between summer and fall semester near the end of August. I made a decision that during my 2 weeks of downtime, I am going to trek somewhere and stay at a cardroom for 4-5 days straight. I figure I will get few opportunities to take several days in a row to play cards. Been to AC, been to Vegas 5 times, only visited Commerce while I was in LA, but never have visited Tunica.

So I am looking for your suggestions on where would be a good place to play cards for a succession of 4-5 days.
Current games I play: 4/8 limit, 1/2 NL, any low limit Omaha Hi (hard to find any of those), and I dig tournaments around $50-200 buy-in. I dislike the tournys that have a really bad blind schedule.

So I live in Austin, Tx making me pretty much have to fly anywhere I go. My choices:

1. Atlantic City (visit friends in philly)
2. L.A. cardrooms (know 1-2 friends out there)
3. Tunica (never visited, heard the room rate is cheap)
4. Foxwoods (never been)

Vegas might be a bit pricey to go travel to. All I am doing is getting a hotel room, having a few friends join me or meet me at my destination, and play cards non-stop.

Yeah, if you don't plan on leaving the casino, Foxwoods is a good bet. But, if you are planning on venturing outside, I would say AC (LA close behind).

This doesn't make sense. Vegas is cheap to travel to compared to almost everywhere else in the country. You can also get very inexpensive hotels here.

Wes, Check out www.swavacations.com. (http://www.swavacations.com.) I was in Veagas for 3 nights for $265, airfare included from Austin.

Vegas can be damn cheap.

Which places have 1/2 or 2/3 NL. I am not a big fan of cash NL. I can play it well, but one bad swing/beat and it can put a dent in my roll. I know AC is 1/2, 60 min, 300 max. I did alright there, but I found it as a loose game. What are the rates at the other spots?
