Folding here is a pretty awful move, especially at lower limits.

Sucks he hit his 4 outer.

Yes, by all means fold the best hand on the flop. That's the key to winning poker. Always fold the best hand to a draw.

Not unless you like not having the best hand 70+% of the time.

One of my favorite lines in HOH v. 2 is:

"When you're set gets outflopped, you're supposed to lose a lot of money. When I hear someone telling a story about how he shrewdly laid down middle set after some intricate chain of reasoning convinced him he was beaten, my quick (but silent) reaction is, 'Idiot'."

I laughed out loud here; and no, don't fold.

It is very rarely going to be correct to fold a flopped set. Since it's such a big and well-hidden hand, you really need overwhelming evidence that you're beaten. It's conceivable that you can get that evidence on the flop in some circumstances, but it's generally going to involve heavy, heavy multiway action on a pretty harmless looking board like 952 rainbow when you've got 22, or perhaps a couple of all-ins on a JT9 monotone board when you're holding 99. And, at the 10s, there are enough crazies that even then it's probably not a good idea.

The range of hands that he's going to minraise you with is substantial. You got him to put his money in as a massive dog, which is the best result that you can hope for. As you can see, posting these kinds of threads tends to make people mad. With a name like "Fold my set on the flop?" you think that all these poor innocent people whose time you wasted might have figured out what kind of thread it was going to be and saved themselves those valuable 20 seconds that they could have spent looking at porn instead. In the future, bad beat posts of this nature should probably be avoided, unless you enjoy watching the flames.

And a belated welcome to the forum.

At first I thought this board would be something that is actually scary... like 89T all spades or something.

Instead is was this wussy board your set has dominated.

Don't fold.

(and don't post results either - ESPECIALLY when those results are a bda beat)

Folding here is aabsurd.

In fact....never fold a set on the flop at the $10s.
