"Will's subtle point is that, in arguing to reverse the Connecticut Supreme Court, the conservative Justices on the Supreme Court were advocating a form of judicial activism to block majoritarian rule. This is not the first time Will has observed that the conservatives who complain about activist - i.e. liberal -- judges just as often want conservative judges to be activist. It all depends on the issue and the result desired."
