I've shot the Dupont Circle fountain twice now, and I'm having trouble making the image work. There are aspects to both pictures that I like. Your opinion?

I voted for 'top', but it depends on what mood you're trying to capture.

As for me, I prefer B&W, mysterious photos like 'top'. The bottom is colorful and explosive - also a great shot.

I believe your choice should reflect the audience ... as for me, though, it's clear-cut TOP.

The black/white looks dark. Like suspicious dark not colorful dark.

The bottom one looks fake.

I like the top one.

Are you aware that your right leg is six inches longer than your left?

I voted top, but I kind of agree it's a bit dark. Maybe you should try to take a B&W picture during daytime sometime, possibly on a day with an overcast sky. I bet it could look nice.

I voted the bottom one, but I think it has more to do with the water falling than anything else.

I think you have it backwards. He's leaning to the right, so his left leg is longer.

BTW: If you got those people out of the bottom shot (blue shirt very left of the picture) I'd like it a lot more. That said, the BW is meh I think, cool that you got it without the water running, but again the extra people kill it. If you just had the guy on the opposite end of the fountain looking away, and not the guy on the bench or the person in the grass deep to the right it would be a much better picture.

Top and it's not even close.

The bottom one is off kilter (personal prejudice against angled photos), too busy, and the spotlights are annoying.

The top one looks cleaner and the spotights add atmosphere.

Hold up a finger frame and tilt from side to side.

If the top picture were framed like the bottom (without that half of a guy to the left) it would be the best. I like everything about the top except the framing. Still both are well done.

Clearly you are gay if you voted for the bottom photo since it captures the statue of the naked man portion of the fountain.

The top is superior since it captures the female statue.
