Party 30 + 3 700 Entrants. Hero was chip leader through the first 40 minutes, but has been card dead for 30 minutes.

Min raises have been taking the blinds. Whole table is relatively tight.

Blinds are 100/200. Hero has 5400 and is #2 in chips at the table. Big stack has 7K. Rest of the table is under 3K.

Hero is dealt A /images/graemlins/diamond.gifK /images/graemlins/club.gif in MP3 and makes it 700 to go after 1 limper. Big stack in the BB calls, limper calls.

(2200 in pot) Flop is 8 /images/graemlins/diamond.gifA /images/graemlins/spade.gif3 /images/graemlins/club.gif Villian big stack bets 200. Limper folds. Hero?

Just seeing if how I played it was correct.

That is a very odd bet from the Villian. If he is a good player who knows he is giving you 12/1 odds to call, then it is a scary bet. If he is a normal donk in a Party tournament, then it probably doesn't mean to much. I would raise here to 800, maybe just call if he is a very good player.

I dunno, I raise here. Seems pretty obvious to me but sucks if he min-bet the flop with a set and you dumped your stack or something crazy like that.

Hero raises to 1200.....

Villian thinks, then calls.

Turn is J /images/graemlins/heart.gif

Villian checks, Hero?

theirs no draw on the table

either its a checkraise bluff or a made hand.. slim chance AQ

either way, by betting you only put yourself off the pot, check and hope for K??

I like your line so far, I would check behind the turn here.

1. No obvious draws Villain could have on the flop, so he either has A smaller ACE or a set or possible AK also. So basically if you bet 1500 and he pushes you will vomet and hope he has AQ.

2. Checking behind will induce a worse ACE to bet the river where he may fold to a large turn bet.

I would call any reasonable river bet, I would puck to a all-in but it would be a tough laydown.

check behind and get to the river

i think you want to get all the chips in here. i'd bet 1600 and the last 2.1k on the river. it's a little fishy to bet small when the pot's bigger than your stack on the river, but i think it's the best way to stack AT.

for those advocating a river check, what's your plan on a brick river if:

- villain bets the river for 1.5k
- pushes the river for your 3.7k
- check

Well , If I check behind it was an attemp to induce a bluff on the river from a wors ACE so I am calling any bet.

The Villain check behind on the river is where I would like to here so feed back on. I am not 100% sure a bet here is correct. If a 10, or Q comes off I am showing down with out a bet.

Hero calls push. Villian shows AJ /images/graemlins/frown.gif and Hero goes and grabs a drink and throws stuff. His third 3 outer beat in MTTs that day and calls it a night.
