I like and buy them both, but since EA bought the NFLPA rights it's really no contest.

Friend of mine has it. I've played it. It's not the worst game ever, but Madden is far and away better.

To be honest, 2K is further down on my list - that NFL game for Xbox (NFL Fever??? w/ Peyton Manning) is better than 2K.
