$225 SAT pays 1st place only.

5 hands into the SAT. Villain is talking up a great game. He is telling stories of Tunica, and is wearing a black shirt with white trim and a wide white tie. He has diamond cuff links on the shirt and looks over the top.

3 or the 5 hands villain has limped in from early position, gotten a bunch of callers, and bet T125 into a pot of T200 and taken it down unchallenged.

blinds 25/25

Hero is BB (T975 after posting blind) J /images/graemlins/heart.gif5 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif
Villain is UTG+2 (~T1500)

Villain limps from UTG+2, 4 other limpers, SB checks, hero checks.

Flop (T175) J /images/graemlins/club.gif7 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif2 /images/graemlins/spade.gif

You checked the flop I'm assuming?

Yes.

Folds.

You've got T25 committed to this, and risking T125 on TPnK for T175 more. Even if this guy's bluffing, I'm letting him have my T25 and waiting for a better spot.

Why not lead on the flop?

If called then check the turn and play accordingly.

Having checked and facing his bet I probably call and play
from there.

Any reasonable bet would be 15% of my stack with 7 players left to act.

You have a point.

With him betting into four or five players behind him to act, unless he's a maniac, I give him credit for having a Jack and
I fold. If you call, you have shortstacked yourself.

Hero raises to T400.

Hero thinks villain most likely does not have a J.
Villain thinks for a few minutes and calls.
