So I turn 21 today and tomorrow I'm leaving for Vegas. I tried to use the search, but it sucks, and I went a few pages back in the posts and I didn't see anything about NL games in Vegas. So I thought I'd ask for input about where I can find some good baby NL games. I was thinking I'd like to play $100 or $200 max buy-in (ooo exciting) or maybe some 2/4 or 3/6 limit depending on how I feel and how the weekend goes.
I'm staying at Circus Circus if that has any importance on which of the poker rooms are easiest to get from there.
I was going to take $1200-1500 for the trip. $100-200 would be for stupid gambooling like BJ, maybe video poker, maybe $5 on a stupid slot machine or perhaps I'll play some craps (Uh... where can I learn how?) Another $100 for food and the rest I would treat as my BR for poker so I'd have at least 5 buy-ins on me for NL and plenty of BB for limit. Is this a good plan?
I was planning to collect $1 chips from every casino I visit over the weekend. I might also try to get my picture taken with lots of prostitutes. Are there any other must do activities while I'm there?

mgm has a $100 NL max buy in game...Luxor has a $100 NL max buy in...i'm sure there are plenty more, those are the only 2 that i know of. make sure to check out the water/light show @ the bellagio at night-time...i believe it runs once at the top of every hour? or once every 30 minutes...cannot remember which, but it's cool.

Wrong and wrong.
MGM Grand has been 200 max buy in since like the second week open and Luxor has never been as high as 100. It's a 50.00 max buy in with three blinds.
Go to this site and read some reviews on poker rooms to find out what you're getting into. All Vegas Poker.com (http://www.allvegaspoker.com)
Btw, sorry to hear about staying at Circus Circus. You'll wake up screaming the first night. /images/graemlins/wink.gif
There's a $50 max buy-in at the Luxor with 3 blinds?? What are the blinds? $1/$1/$1? Also, when I go to AllVegasPoker.com, it states that the Luxor has a $50 min/$200 max NL game. I'm confused.
I can confirm that the max buying for the NL at luxor is $50. I was laughing too hard to listen to anything he said about blinds.

They're $1/$1/$2. I played there and thought the buyin was way too low. Played the 1-2 NL at the Trop ($100 max buyin, I believe) and found it to be quite soft. The NL tables there usually start up in the evenings.

I was playing at the MGM (2/4 Hold'em) 2 weeks ago and love that poker room. You can hear pretty hip music coming from the bar and I played with some of the worst players I have ever seen. I saw a guy call a bet on the turn when he folded post flop.

I was at the Monte Carlo last week playing 2/4 with the locals. The NL buyin is $100min, $200max and usually starts in the evening.

That actually is a 2/5 NL game with the 100-500 game. Friend of mine works there and confirms this. I think the OP was looking for 1 or 200 max buy ins which would be the 1/2 games.

My flight leaves in less than 12 hours so I've got to go get some sleep soon. Thank you everyone for your input.
