Against two opponents, I check-fold, and I don't think it's close.

Every once and a while but I put the brakes on if I get any action.

I'd be more inclined to do it with deeper stacks too.

I nearly always make a continuation bet in this situation, but am very wary if it isn't enough to take the pot down. I find with the preflop raise it's very easy to represent AK/AQ with the lead out, and make an ace other than A7/A8 consider folding.

I don't think there's anyway I'm making top pair fold here. If they called preflop with Ax, they certainly aren't folding once they've hit their ace. At the lower-levels, this point is moot.

In an 800 chip SNG, I check-fold this as well. Granted, it's a weak way to play this hand, but I think you're up against an ace way too many times here. With more chips, I'd lead to see where I stand. But with the lower buying structures, I probably give this hand up on the flop and curse my misfortune.

I am always conflicted in this same situation. I see 3 possibilities, the continuation bet which I do probably 30% of the time, or check/fold about 60% of the time. The third option is to check raise. Of course you need to be pretty sure that it will be bet and you'll get mid-aces to fold more often with this move than by leading out. Its not something to try often, and with the short stack in there its dangerous if he gets involved. So it also depends on who bets, if the shorty sticks around then I am probably folding after a check, but if its the other guy I might put in a check raise. You'll be called by A7, A8, 77 and 88 and maybe some higher aces depending on the quality of your opponent, but it will work sometimes and definitely removes the feeling that you are playing weak/tight.
