Don't like the preflop cap. You're out of position and you only have two other opponents. Depends how much of a chook UTG is, but as a default I don't think it's a cap-for-value.

what does position have to do with putting in more bets with a hand that has the equity to justify doing so? i'm not on the defensive here, just wondering what your reasoning is.

I cap too but you'd rather cap in position than without because you'd rather a smaller pot out of position and a bigger pot with position. so his argument is correct, I just think the equity edge is big enough to justify

I stated it wrong. if you have the option, you'd rather a smaller pot out of position and a bigger pot with position with all else the same
