A few of us casino regulars have bee beating this question around: At which game is one more likely to develope a bad beat? A loose low limit game (3-6) or a tighter (10-20) game? It doesn't really matter of course what the limit is, except in our casino you can count on the 10-20 being tigher than the 3-6.

Our bad beat qualifier is currently Aces full of Queens. The prize is about $50k. Both casrds of both hands must play.

One camp seems to think that the more hands you let in to see the flop the greater the chances a bad beat happens, since I guess any hand can make a bad beat except for 23o.

The other view states that since most bad beats are going to occur with hands like AK, AQ, and three aces on board, the odds of generating a bad beat are greater in a game where less time is wasted playing out the 97 type stuff, and more hands dealt per hour while everyone is waiting for big hands.

What's your opinion? Does anybody have holdem sym. software that can be set to trip on a bad beat?

id say the smaller game as in the bigger game too many possible winners would be mucked. and the extra hands dealt out wouldnt make up for it. plus if you are going to play for the stupid jackpot, many unprofitable playing hands must be played trying to hit it so its best to lose less with them.
