I was playing a micro-limit table and getting nicked by a semi-maniac. He was playing such garbage and hitting such improbable hands that it struck me as hilarious. It was a fun show to watch.

Then this hand came up; sorry I can't resist.

I'm LMP with 9d Td.

Four limpers (1UTG, EMP, MP, LMP-me). SB (the semi-maniac) raises, BB folds and all limpers call.

FLOP: [ Jd 2d Qd ]

Woohoo, a flopped "non-nut" flush, with a straight-flush redraw.

SB bets, 1UTG calls, EMP raises (yikes). MP folds, the rest of us call.

TURN: [ Jd 2d Qd ] [ Ks ]

SB bets, 1UTG calls, EMP raises, I call.

SB 3-bets, 1UTG folds, EMP caps, me and SB call.

RIVER: [ Jd 2d Qd Ks ] [ Kd ] /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

SB bets, EMP raises, I 3-bet, SB caps, EMP and I call.

SB shows: [ Kc Kh ] (four of a kind, kings)

EMP shows: [ Ad 7d ] (a flush, ace high)

I've got: [ 9d Td ] (a straight flush, nine to king)

I probably should have folded after the first EMP raise on the turn since he indeed had what I thought he had. But, then I would have missed this glorious ending. /forums/images/icons/cool.gif

I make special exeptions for straight flush draws. I think I might not be able to sleep if I fold them and they hit, so I sometimes play on with them regardless of my judgement.

Too bad it was online, you had a jackpot hand there in many cardrooms.

Good luck,
play well,

Bob T.
