I received my 2nd 2001FP yesterday. My PC's video card has a DVI and a VGA port. I had the first monitor hooked up through the VGA. I hooked the second monitor through the DVI Port. The DVI monitor is noticeably clearer (especially when looking at text) when sitting side by side with the VGA monitor. So, now I want to hook both monitors up via DVI.

If I buy a VGA/DVI adapter for my computer's VGA port, will I get a DVI quality picture on that monitor? Or will it still be VGA quality and the only purpose the adapter serves to to make the connection?

Thanks for your input.

Hopefully you'll get answer from someone who really knows, but I'm fairly certain that a monitor connected with a VGA>DVI adapter will not match the image quality of an identical monitor with a straight DVI connection.

An adapter is cheaper than another card, so you may want to get one and try it out before buying a new card.

That's what I figured. Thanks for the response.
