I started to list some, but they're all from the first two. Just get the deluxe blue album and pinkerton. I don't dislike the green album either.

The problem with the Green Album is that it has no soul. It feels detached, boring, and lifeless. It's hard to dislike, but it's also hard to like.

I just made a Weezer mix for my car. Unlike a lot of people, I like some of the new CD. Blue and Pinkerton are far and away better than the other three albums. Here is the mix list. The last four are from the new cd so may be harder to find.

El Scorcho
Keep Fishin
Knock-Down Drag-Out
Buddy Holly
only in dreams
say it aint so
the good life
pink triangle
the world has turned and left me here
tired of sex
dope nose
surf wax america
across the sea
butterfly
we are all on drugs
peace
the damage in your heart
Perfect Situation

Personally, I think they really fell off when he left.

BusterStacks

It's called Make Believe. I dunno, I can't really say I recommend it, but I thought it was a decent offering. Certainly not worthy of all the criticism it got.

The tracks "Perfect Situation," "This is Such a Pity," and "Freak Me Out" are all good tracks off the new CD.

my sister's friend's band (he's the manager) is opening for Weezer on their tour. they're called The Fray. you can listen to a few of their songs here (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=837 8633&Mytoken=20050622001206) .

There are also a bunch of good weezer songs that never got released (or were released on compilations, etc...)

Look for:

Jamie
Mykel & Carli
Chess
You Gave Your Love to me Softly
Why Haven't You Called Me
Devotion
American Girls
Mad Kow
Modern Dukes

There are more, but these are the best of the rarities, IMO.

Velouria

There's a lot of good songs on the 2-disc Blue Album that was released recently.

Also, to be a nit, "American Girls" is by Homie, which was one of Rivers' projects in '98. It is not "Weezer" but was written by Rivers and played live during his solo boston shows in late '97.

I do have to say that American Girls is in the top 3 Weezer songs of all time. It's not like any of their songs, but it's excellent.

These are their two best CD's. However, aying that nothing off the other ones is any good is hyberbole, even if you don't like the other albums as a whole.

Jamie
Photograph
Island in the Sun
Glorious Day
O-Girlfriend
Dope Nose

Just to name a few. I haven't heard the new album yet, but I intend to pick it up sometime, and I expect there are at least a few good ones on there as well.

I like the new album. I haven't listened the older ones besides songs that got radio play, so if people are saying that those are even better, I'm not taking it as a slam on the current album. Rather, to me anyways, its a strong endorsement of their other albums. Gonna add to my Amazon wish list now, in fact... /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I just pretend Pinkerton is made by another band. Otherwise my reality gets all f'ed up because I can't conceive how a band that could make an album as good at the Blue album could also make one so awful.
