My vote goes to Duke vs. Kentucky 1992. Even though my team didnt come out ahead, it still has everything you could want in a game.

WVU-Wake was the best game since UK-Duke '92. Then that Ill-AZ game happened and I don't know what to think. I need to watch them all again.

I didn't watch it so someone that did please chime in but the Michigan/Seaton Hall game in '89. The final game coming down to Rumeal Robinson free throws has got to be a great game.

I can agree that both games were crazy. Couldnt have asked for more of an exciting NCAA tournament last year. Hopefully this coming years is just a good.

I don't care. Cuse won in 2003. Illinois is just a bunch of nerds who will never win.

What about Duke/Carolina when Capel hit's the runner at the buzzer?

Brain

I agree with this one as the best I've ever seen.

Other best ever candidates:
1995-Carolina 102, Duke 100 (F-2OT)
Duke's 8 point run with 17 seconds left in the first overtime capped by Jeff Capel's half court shot.

1983-NC State vs. Houston
Lorenzo Charles at the rim. I miss Jimmy V.

1966-Texas Western (now UTEP) vs. Kentucky
The all-black starting five beats Kentucky's all-white team

Historically speaking, this could be one of the most influential/impactful game. Because of this game, people will always consider Rupp a racist, even though he truely wasnt.

I don't pretend to know whether he was or wasn't, and I know there is evidence in his favor. But there is a bit more to that belief than simply this game against 5 black guys.

Yeah, I guess TW-UK doesn't make it for "best", but probably for "most influential". Still worth mentioning, especially for the kids.

Sorry, this board is full of certifiable jackasses. The greaest college game ever was April 1 , 1985. Villanva vs Georgetown. Hands down. No argument. Shove it up your pooper.

1983 championship. NOT EVEN CLOSE. nc state beat hakeem olajuwon and clyde drexler with a tip at the buzzer!!

Syracuse vs. Georgia 1996 was a sweet game.

Illinois vs. Arizona, 2005.

A lot of people may disagree but I don't think this game is even close. One team pulled a massive choke job, the other team was there to take advantage. Most of the game really wasn't that interesting. There are plenty of great games out there that were captivating almost the entire way through, AND then something crazy happened at the end. This was the 3rd best Elite 8 game this year.

Sorry man, but he was. Hardcore. My grandfather was the Dean of the Athletic Dorms at UK while he was teaching history there and ate lunch with both Rupp and Bryant a lot. He was a pretty dirty racist.

Games I went to >>> games I watch.
GT/OSU 2004 Final 4
Wake/GT was pretty sweet this past year

Personally, it was North Carolina vs Missouri in the 1982 Rainbow Classic final (december). I don't remember much from the game, but I got to see Jordan and Perkins play (and Waymond Tisdale in the 3rd place game immediately before).

I detest Duke and Kentucky but this was by far the greatest game I've ever witnessed.

My personal favorite is Smart sticking it to Syracuse.

Hmm... Maybe the ESPN special I saw on him wasnt totally accurate then. If my memory holds true, Rupp was actually trying to bring Wes Unseld to UK and make them the first segregated team in the SEC. I think Wes was close to it but decided on Louisville.

Any game that comes down to free throws is not a great game.

Duke-UK '92. We burned the mother[censored] campus down that night.

BTW...the word MF gets by the censors.

Arizona vs. Gonzaga in 2003 was a better game than this year's Arizona-Illinois game.

And I think that Duke-Kentucky from 1992 is the best game ever played ...

UNC 96 Duke 92 (OT)

Trailing 86-78, UNC scored 8 points in the final 17 seconds to tie the game and send it into overtime. Also, this was before the 3-point shot which makes it even that much more incredible.
