I didn't really see this anywhere, and since I enjoy the fact that you post here, let me say congrats on your WSOP Omaha bracelet.

He also dedicated the win to an internet player suffering from cancer named Charlie. After reading the article on cardplayer I can't think of any other poker player I can respect more than Barry Greenstein. I hope he busts Daniel's ass in the remaining heads-up matches.

You've gotta respect a man who has the balls to:

a) donate all of his tournament winnings to a cause larger than himself;
b) publish his book on his own when nobody else would print it up to his standards;
and c) wear a COSBY SWEATER at the final table!

Go Barry!

Greenstein then took the announcer’s microphone and dedicated the win to a young Clarksville, Tennessee poker player named Charlie who is battling cancer. Greenstein had just heard about the young man a few days earlier, and had spent some time talking with Charlie. As Greenstein told the spectators and the ESPN cameras of his dedication, he spoke haltingly, clearly overcome with emotion. (from pokerwire)

as most of us already know that he donates ALL his tournament winnings to charity, i think he deserves to win more bracelets. kudos to barry. /images/graemlins/cool.gif

This is something I'd like to talk about in the future, but I feel that it is too overwhelming to discuss right now.

Barry has become a very good friend of mine. Charlie was someone I was just getting to know. I'm so ecstatic that his heroes called him and made his last week joyful. Max Pescatori, Barry Greenstein, Marcel Luske, John Juanda, Erik Seidel, Chip Jett, Jennifer Harman and many others went out of their way to give Charlie a terrific farewell.

I have finally finished the series of "Barry" posts that I promised a month ago. I knew it would be hard for me to write, so I did it slowly, when I felt that it wouldn't be too overwhelming.

Here are the three posts, I hope you enjoy the story.

Barry (Part Two) (http://felicialee.blogspot.com/2005/07/barry-greenstein-part-ii.html)
