WEll i hit it- 30,000 hands of losing poker. Its been six weeks since i had a winning week and longer than that since i have hand 3 consecutive winning days in a row. Dropped around 6k playing anywhere from 5-10 sh on party to the 20-40 game at the mirage. In 800 hands today i had AA-JJ more than 20 times and lost 25 big bets. The deck can't hit me any harder in the face preflop- and i still can't post a winning session. If i'm up 300$ in my first 300 hands, then i am down 200 by the time i ht 500 hands.
I am at the endge of my ability to deal with this streak psycologically- rakeback nearly pays the bills, and my bankroll is still at 800 bbs- but i can't stand palying any more- i have taken breaks, played live instead of online, gone on short trips to visiti friends over the weekend to try to relax and forget about this [censored]- but it is getting to the point where i hate sitting down to play poker right now.
I am running out of ways to deal with the stress.

Been there, done that. A couple one night stands and a weekend-long drug-induced vacation to Jupiter (did you know that it's inhabited by sentient octopii?) got me back on track, so put on your best all black outfit and try hitting up the nearest absinthe bar.

Seriously though, I feel ya. Three weeks since I've posted consecutive winning days and over a month since I had a winning week. If I find something that helps, I'll let you know.

glad im not the only one. Sorry to hear you are running horrible too tho. Thankfully there is a Fry's electronics down the street from me and they sell computer keyboards for $3.99, as I think smashing them is the only thing thats kepy me sane, heh.

I recently went through a 21k breakeven stretch which made me question the ways of the universe /images/graemlins/tongue.gif It'll turn around..although it's still turning around fairly slowly for me.

And here I was going to complain that I dropped 60BB last session . . . what stings is that I didn't have to drop that much, that over half of it was just plain bad play. Argh.

Ahhh, the hijack for my pitiful little downswing feels so gooooood.

Currently 10k hands of running - 3 bb/100 (after 150 k of running 3+...) it will get better right? (because it has to...)

billyjex

losing sucks. i had about 22k hands of -200bb play and it really sucked. I finally have hit a 300bb+ upswing in my last 5k hands and it feels nice to win again.. i'm sure your confidence is shot but winning again makes me realize how much you can really run bad at this game.

That said... after 48k hands at 5/10 AA is my third biggest winner (bb per hand.) WTF?

I laugh at your pitiful 60BB. Heres my last 10K hands. Bowdown before me

I would take a week off. If you're dreading sitting down at the computer and you're as fried psychologically as it seems, then it is (a) not worth putting yourself through the pain right now and (b) quite likely that your game will be subpar, even if you can't really pick up on the subtle ways that you're slipping.

When you go back, I would focus on three things:

1) Select tables very carefully
2) Make sure you're being properly aggressive, especially in value betting rivers.
3) Try not to obsessively look at your cashier or add up in your mind whether you are up or down for the session.

Good luck. I'm sure it will turn around.

i just got done with a break even stretch of 40 days/48k hands. you start to wonder if you just got lucky the first 100k hands. all i can say is keep going - 30k hands really isn't that much.

Me too. Seems like half the forum is running bad at the momemnt. CONSPIRACY?

But seriously, take some time off. Apparently, I'm a fragile person. I had a downswing just under 200BB. Took a few weeks off. Came back and had a 140BB upswing and just suffered another 200BB downswing. I haven't played in a few days. Sorry, this was initially was going to be an encouraging post.

Sweet Jesus 25k hands b/e is the best I can offer but I just hit -300bb yesterday in my current downswing. I am enjoying this one so far. It's amazing how bad it can get. In 1,600 hands yesterday I had just four full houses and I lost with three of them.

OMG..Its not useless whining!! I had a -80BB session yesterday and nothing could cheer me up. This thread made me feel much better knowing that i am not the only one.. Besides 80 BB is nothing compared to you guys. All i have to say is that i hope i can take a -600 BB and still be able to write. Dont give up guys (just now i just hit my first AA after 1k or so hands today and it did not crack!!).
