Three people left in a No-limit Texas Hold'em tournament. Blinds are 400-800. The button folds, in the SB (I have about T3500) I get K-3 offsuit and I just call, I didn't really fear a raise, or I probably would have folded. BB (he has about T6000) lets it go. The flop is K-Q-10. I check wanting to feel out the BB, he bets 500. I think for a moment and raise 1000, putting him on an Ace or a Jack. He calls the 1,000. Turn is the Ace. I check and fold. He showed me his A-Q after I folded. I think the main problem was not going all-in for 2,200 instead of just raising 1,000 after the flop. I think I could have gotten him to fold the Queens and gutshot draw. Any other thoughts?

I am not sure if I call the 400 pre-flop. I think it depends on the payout of the tourney and the buttons stack size.

I probably bet it out or if I did choose to check, I would raise all-in. Hard to say if he would have laid down AQ. I am surprised he didn't raise with it but you said you didn't fear a raise.
