I decided not to 3 bet the flop because it would be hard to force any draws out. I was going to check-raise if a blank came out on the turn, but I folded with 4 to a straight.

I would likely call down and fold to further action from other players.

I hate the turn fold...

7:1 immediate on a 4 outer, when you could still possibly have the best hand...

There's too many hands you could be ahead of, plus you've got 4 outs if you're behind, and up to 4 outs for a split. These situations come up a lot, and most of the time you'll lost, but you'll win enough of the time to make it worth making someone show you a better hand.
