I was reading sklanskys book "Holdem Poker for Advanced Players" and was unable to grasp this mathematical concept for finding the winning chaces of a hand with two to come. Sklansky - "A classic mistake that many players make is miscalculating thier chance when there are two cards to come. For instance, if a player can catch 9 outs to make his hand, he knows he is a 38-9 underdog on the next round. However, he incorrectly doubles his outs to 18 when figuring odds for both rounds and thus arrives at 29-18 (33%), a figure 3.3% too high" Why is doubling your outs wrong and what is the correct math for finding the correct win percentage?
