Google to create payment service like pay pal

Read in the Wall Street Journal google plans to create a payment service like that of Ebay's PayPal. Of course PayPal does not do poker site payments; however, they used to. Google probably would not, but I still thought it was newsworthy enought to post.

Yeah, I strongly doubt they'd support poker sites. But what I find very interesting is that their direct competitor would be PayPal (owned by Ebay). Which is a HUGE sponsor (albeit indirectly) on Google's site.

I am so excited for this. Hopefully Gmail will put an end to PayPal's ridiculous fees and horrid customer service.

They're probably hoping it'll be the default payment service once they roll out gBay :-)

I wonder how long until GPAY (or whatever) "magically" becomes the first hit on Google search for something like "online payment systems"
