It just occured to me how interesting this is. If the Pistons manage to come back, Chauncey pretty much has the award locked up, although Ben Wallace will again be a close second.

But what happens if (when?) the Spurs win?

Give me Bruce Bowen.

Although I personally don't think he deserves it, Duncan is a solid favorite in the betting lines (usually a darn good indicator).

I think for Detroit to win Chauncey must play well and if he doesnt they just cant win so that locks him up for the MVP for Detroit. For the Spurs though it could all depend on the next game or even two.. if manu lights it up or duncan for that matter it could go either way. I doubt they would give it to a guy such as bowen but its just what I feel.

Depends who has a big game six and/or seven. Bowen, Manu, Duncan and Horry are all in the running. I suppose one could argue that, in the three games they won, Manu, Bowen and Horry each were the MVP in one of them.

Sometimes the obvious choice is the correct one. Duncan. It's the MVP, not the "Most Overachieving Player."
