liked his answer to the following question: Is Negreanu as good as some think or is he lucky?

"It's a combination but nobody is as good as they look when they are winning".

he's being a very good sport about all the "are you broke?" and "how much did you lose in the big game?" questions ...

i thought the chat mods did a horrible job on screening the questions? none of my questions about the basis and/or origins for his style of play made it through but we got at least 10 questions about whether the big game broke him?!? /images/graemlins/confused.gif

agree. some of the questions were lame, such as would you ever stake Ivey? who cares. Or is there a blow up doll of you? Prolly some closet case. And then there was what's a good strategy against you? Like he's really gonna say something he really feels is good against him...

I would be curious as to how he feels about Shana fawning over him every time there is a segment with him in it, huzzah!

Do you keep detailed records of your play and results?

very bad at keeping records so no. /images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I think the "no" is for detailed records, I'm pretty sure he knows how much he won/loss in a month, for example.

I really like he's attitude about the big game and facing better players, he doesn't look like the kind of guy who thinks he's the best player in the world because he won 3wpt tournaments. Nice to see an unpretentious poker pro /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I liked the part where he said teens should be allowed to play poker in homegames, I remember the whole forum killing for saying the same thing Gus said.( I am aware that Gus isnt the absolute judge), it was clearly a chat for the typical wpt guy who think he has a clue because he plays with a hand chart.

Who do you think is the best player over all games?
Reply by: Gus Hansen 06.20.05 - 12:55 pm
Phil Ivey if he is concentrating

Interesting. I have read that Ivey is always mentally tough and often that is his second biggest edge at the table. Everyone has off days, of course. I wonder if Gus has noted Phil drifting more than rarely...
