I was uncomfortable on the turn, and even more uncomfortable on the river...

I would bet the river. The turn raise and river check, look like a really bad semi-bluff to me. Also, it is not likely that he is 3-betting PF with a hand containing a 7 or 22 or 55. All you really have to fear is JJ and he is unlikely to check that because you have given no indication you will bet the river.

I ended up checking and it got checked through. SB had As5s for a semi-bluff, as you predicted, and I took it down.
